Rooibos Chai

Okay I know what you're all thinking. I've reviewed this tea before as a sample!

Which is true. But I, in my silliness, did not prepare it as one should a chai tea. This time I did.

I used three full scoops of the loose leaf tea into a tea bag, plopped it into a double-boiler with milk, let it steep for quite a few minutes on medium. Added three sticks of honey (I would have preferred my agave, you need less of it, but the honey was on hand). Ran myself a nice bath, and then soaked for a bit with the lovely tea.

And man, is this lovely. If you find a regular chai to be too much, then this will be nice for you. It still has that chai flavor I personally love, but it's slightly more laid back and smooth.

10/10. Would steep again.

Pu'erh Caramel

As you all know by now, I love caramel to an almost unhealthy amount. Right now I have a caramel scented candle going too.

I'm almost done being sick (it's been about 2 weeks in total). Turns out it was strep throat, and it did start out from my trip overseas to visit the FIL. I had to take 2 days off of work because it got to where I literally couldn't talk above a whisper, and am now on very helpful antibiotics. Sadly, tea only cures so much. Chugging ginger-honey tea (AKA fresh ginger and honey in boiling water), and oregano oil, helped make my throat feel a little better though.

This tea is called Caramel on the website and it's from Tea Desire. I got it from Zach, my lovely significant other, for Christmas! Rest assured, it is a pu'erh, and it does have caramel bits in it. And it smells divine.

With the first sip I didn't really taste any caramel. The more I drank the more I tasted it. It never really became a super powerful BAM of caramel on the first flush.

You may just love this tea! Starting next week, I may just do some love themed teas!

Raspberry Vanilla Rooibos

Raspberry Vanilla Rooibos from TeaDesire

Ingredients: Redbush Tea, raspberry pieces, raspberry-vanilla flavour and taste


This tea has a little bit of everything I love. Vanilla, raspberry, and tea!! So, it was obvious that I had to try it.

I definitely recommend a high steeping time for this tea (even longer than five minutes) to get the full potential of the flavour. And it is a pretty awesome flavour.

Judging by the smell, I was expecting it to taste mostly of flavouring and gunk, but no. The flavour high-note is the natural woody-ness of the rooibos. You definitely still taste the creamy raspberry flavouring, but the tea is the centre-piece of the flavour, which is always excellent.
And vanilla just works with rooibos!

If you are a rooibos fan, it is definitely worth giving a try. 

 The only downside is that the raspberry and vanilla totally could have been natural and made this tea taste even better. More raspberry pieces, please!

Sample Trifecta

I got these 3 samples from Kayla that've been DYING to try, but wanting to review.

So here we go!

Rooibos Chai:

Oh my gods I love this tea!
It smells sweet, and spicy and delicious! It smells like Christmas!
I steeped it 5 minutes, added a dash of sugar and a splash of 1% milk.

It smelled and tasted like Christmas; warm, spicy, and soothing.
I will absolutely buy this!






Raspberry Oolong:

As I'm sure I've said, green teas of any type are not my favorite, but I still like the Raspberry Oolong.
It smells exactly like raspberries! I started drooling.
I steeped it twice, and it was better on the second steep. More fruity. I would have absolutely adored it if it tasted more like how it smelled. Sadly, it doesn't have a super strong raspberry flavor.

I won't buy it, but I will recommend it to people!



Lime-Coco:

It basically smells like a pina colada, and that smells fantastic.

But it doesn't taste how it smells. Which is a let down. Actually, I shouldn't be so quick to say "doesn't". It SLIGHTLY tastes how it smells.

Not going to buy it, but I say try it.
