Detox (organic)

[picture of tea to go here, when the damn thing decides to load]

Ingredients: certified Fair Trade rooibos, sencha, lemongrass, ginger, juniper berries, ginko, natural lemon flavouring.

I was going to leave a review until tomorrow to write because my stomach feels really gross right now. Then I thought, hey! I can tell everyone about the tea I use whenever I feel like crap! So, I'm going to do just that.
Now, I usually modify this with honey, nettle leaf, and chamomile -you know, for a real punch to my illness- but I will just add honey, after an initial taste description.

Steeped for five minutes, sometimes a little longer -again, that punch.

Tons of rooibos-y goodness. Only slight undertones of ginger and lemongrass, which I find fantastic because I can't stand either flavours. It really doesn't taste like your typical "wellness" type tea, it just tastes like a delicious and hearty rooibos .

Honey really isn't necessary at all with this tea, but I add it for extra flavour and because honey is pretty awesome. It also makes everything go down just a little more smoothly.

I think that this is a tea that everyone should have in their house. Upset stomachs are common, and you can definitely be prepared with this delicious tummy-soother.

Lime Gelato

Lime Gelato from DT
Ingredients: Apple, sencha green tea, pineapple (candied), lemongrass, and artificial creamy lime yogurt flavouring.

I am a sucker for anything lime. I'm a little bit psycho over limes. Yet, I avoided trying this tea for so long because a good friend of mine told me that she thought it was disgusting, and "creamy lime yogurt flavouring" sounds kind of... awful. But, I finally got it as a sample in one of my online orders, and after a sales girl insisted it was good when chilled, that's what I decided to try today.

Well, I'll be damned! SUNSHINE!
My first sip instantly made me think of lime greek yogurt - something I am a pretty  big fan of. But the more I drink, the more I just taste the lemongrass.
My imagination was deceiving my taste buds. THE FIEND!
It has s smooth, almost creamy lemongrass flavour, but it is NOT lime. Where da lime at, davidstea?! WHERE?! Even the coconut lime (haven't tried that yet) from Tea Desire has ACTUAL LIME PIICES IN IT. Get with the program. You say lime, give us LIME. Please note: lemon is not lime. LemonGRASS is most definitely NOT LIME.

Well, I do believe that I have abused my caps lock enough for today, the poor bugger.

It's not absolutely disgusting, but it reminds me far too much of something you drink when you are sick with the flu or some other nasty bug thing that always seems to assault my system in the winter months. It is not the delicious, limey Italian desert they promised... not at all....

My friend was right, and I am glad that I listened to her.
Until DavidsTea learns what a lime is, I recommend not wasting your time -or money- on this one.

This tea is not for me!

Kiwi's Big Adventure

Kiwi's Big Adventure
From DavidsTea
Ingredients: Green tea, apple, kiwi, lemongrass, lemon peel, artificial flavouring

Laura made me want to try this tea forever ago, but since I was in the midst of penny pinching... it took me a while to finally order this tea.

It smells SO good. As soon as I took a whiff I was glad that I was giving this tea a go.
Only one problem....

HOT OR COLD?!?

Why not both?
Hot: maybe it's just the warm weather, but I was just not feeling this hot today. It still tastes amazing, but I definitely needed to ice it.
Cold: so good. So much kiwi and apple goodness. This is something I think kids would really love. (And bonus for parents: it's actually HEALTHY - yay!)

This is a pretty awesome tea and I can definitely see why it has stuck around so long.
The apple, kiwi, and green tea are just so perfectly balanced here. I love it!!

Give it a try both ways. It doesn't matter the mood you're in; Kiwi's Big Adventure will bring a smile to the hearts of the lovers of sweet green teas.

Happy Steeping,

Organic Mother's Little Helper

"Mother's Little Helper" from DavidsTea

Ingredients: Organic: peppermint, lemongrass, rosehips, hibiscus (Fair Trade), chamomile flowers, valerian root, cornflowers. With natural peppermint flavouring

This delicious peppermint tasting tea with hints of chamomile, rosehips and lemongrass prides itself as a relaxation tea... If tea had some kind of sentient powers, which it does not. Ooor does it? No, definitely not. I obviously meant, DavidsTea really pumps up the volume on RELAXATION.

And they should.
Before I elaborate, a little back story: I do not sleep well. Meaning, I have this strange need to constantly know what time it is, and it even interferes with my sleep schedule! I wake up on average of ever hour to see what the time is. Mother's Little Helper actually helps me with this. I can go almost the ENTIRE night without waking up whenever I have myself a nice large cup of the stuff before bed. AND (for the ladies), it can help with cramps!

I'm drinking it right now so I can get to sleep early and sleep off some seriously nasty muscle pain. I love this stuff. It's got amazing qualities, and just tastes like a lovely cup of peppermint tea. Mmmm

This tea needs to be in EVERYONE's cupboard, or drawer, or on the counter - wherever the hell you store your tea! Get this, tout de suite!

Happy Steepi-zzzzzzzzz
