Jessie's Tea

Notice it looks different than the website
Let me start out with what I did to brew this tea. I feel kinda gross so this is going to be short and sweet.

Jessie's tea by DavidsTea

I used one scoop using David's Perfect Spoon. I set it to the "herbal" setting on my kettle (200F), steeped it for like...5 minutes, then let it sit for a few minutes under Stanley the tea cozy

More fucking coconut. DavidsTea, please calm your shit with the coconut.

This tea is okay. Just okay. It smells kinda funny. The mix of lavender and rooibos AND the coconut just smells funny. Not a BAD funny...just funny.

I dunno, it also tastes how it smells.

I don't like it enough to buy any more, but I do like it enough to have a glass.

Now, to wait for the renos to be over to make a good cuppa,

Lavender Faery Tea

This 'wine' is normally supposed to be for the first of February, but screw that I wanted to match it up with the Spring Equinox (which is on March 20th). Also, it's a fucking tea not a wine because fucking hell this isn't even close to a wine. Any people upset by the change can come yell at me I guess.

Let's usher in Spring, shall we!

Lavender Faery Wine Tea for Imbolc
(better late than never, Sort of)

You can use the recipe I used as inspiration, which I found here. You can totally use the one here, that this one was based on. Or mine, which is below.

  • 1 cup of milk per serving. (Soy/almond/coconut optional)
  • 1 tsp honey
  • 1/4 tsp of vanilla extract (Optional. I used about the same amount of vanilla agave)
  • 2 scoops of lavender tea
  • Lavender buds or cinnamon (I used cinnamon)

Warm a cup milk on the stove (Or microwave, who am I to judge); be careful not to burn it. It will taste like shit if you do.
Once warmed, steep the tea, honey, and vanilla extract (or whatever you used).
Serve in a teacup and sprinkle lavender buds or cinnamon on top.

No dogs. We cannot share.
Okay, so if you like warm milk and honey you will like this. Because that's exactly what it tastes like.  You can sorta taste the lavender, and sorta taste the cinnamon, but it's fairly yummy. It left me relaxed, warm and happy. Like Spring does.

Feeling optimistic about the warmth, and bitter about the cold,

Laura

Rooibos de Provence

As soon as you open the bag, you smell the black currents. I personally really like this smell, so I'm happy here.

I'm taking a super long time to type this up, I keep getting distracted. So if this feels a little disjointed in parts, it's because I went on tumblr or Youtube then remembered I was typing this up.

I steeped it 1 tbsp to 4 cups of water, in my handy standby teapot. I steeped it for about 4 minutes, JUST LIKE THE PACKAGE TOLD ME TO.

Okay, onto flavor (this has taken me over an hour to get this far. Don't judge me.):
You can really taste the lavender and the rosehips. It has a really nice smooth flavor, that I find characteristic of rooibos teas, with a bite of black current. Overall, it's pretty delicious. Fruity and smooth and lavender-y.
It DOES leave you nice and relaxed, which is a super bonus.

I've never been to the French countryside, but it would suit the Albertan countryside just as nicely. Sitting on the front porch, wrapped in a blanket looking at the leaves change...and potentially as an iced tea in the summer! SOMEONE REMIND ME TO DO THIS

I honestly can't decide how much I like this tea. I don't DISLIKE it in the SLIGHTEST, but I don't like it enough to get 100g all at once. It IS relaxing to drink, and it tastes really nice. It would be great for a day when you are super stressed and just want to zonk out.
So, once this bag runs out, I'll order more, but 100g would be far too much.

(Good Gods it's been 3 hours and I'm finally done what the hell is wrong with me)

-Drink your tea my lovelies,
L
